It was very early on 911 on the west coast.  My daughters first day of kindergarten.  I was making breakfast and her lunch box everyone was asleep and the news had a breaking story in New York.  My cousin was living just down the street from the Towers.  Then the plane hit the first Tower.   I switched stations thinking it was a prank or false story or a video.  It wasn’t.  Then the second hit.  And the news of the other planes and then … horror.  Shock.

I took my daughter to school and stayed outside and wouldn’t leave the school parking lot.  In a few hours I went to get her and go home.

Our brother in law in Washington DC called to tell us about the Pentagon.  He then warned us to stay off the Golden Gate Bridge.

He was FBI so we knew he was informed.
