September 11, 2001 started out like any normal day at school. The bus picked me up at ten of seven and me and my friends joked on the way to school. Everyone was so happy and energetic.. little did we know we were going to be in devastation within a few hours. I got to school and we went through the normal routine. It was 8:30 and I was sitting in TV Production class when an announcment was made that America was under terroristic attacks. At first my family and my girlfriend raced through my mind. I wanted to leave class and call them to make sure they were ok. Once we heard it was the World Trade Centers had been struck and there were still planes in the sky it was about 10:15. For the rest of the day teachers put on radios and tv’s so we could possibly calm down and know what was going on. We heard many familiar voices such as President Bush, Mayor Giluani, and many local politicians from the Philadelphia area. I remember the President addressing the fact that the terrorists would be caught and punished for their acts on September 11, 2001. At that moment in time, when i heard those words, i felt very secure and safe. What is depressing is that it took a tragedy like this to bring us Americans together. I am very happy with the way America has come together and I honestly can say i am the proudest I have ever been to be an American. Thank you and God Bless America!
