I remember 9/11. I was 6 at the time and I live in England. It was just past 3pm and I was walking home from school with my mum. She told me about a plane flying into the World Trade Center in New York. It didn’t really mean anything to me. I got home and watched the news and just saw clips of towers burning and smoke pouring from them. I was in another room when my dad shouted that another one had collapsed. I saw the huge smoke cloud and the building collapse.
This day will never be forgotten and must never be forgotten. It is the defining day in my generation and the older generation’s lifetime and the world changed. I will never forget the people who died and the selfless, brave emergency services personnel who died while saving others. We must never forget.
The people (I call them ‘people’ with regret) who did this have no place on this earth and never will do.
