I was in the fifth grade in Hawaii when it happened. I woke up to my parents watching the news. I didn’t think too much of it until I went to school and my teacher had explained it all. It was very unimaginable to think that such a thing had ACTUALLY happened. To this very day the thought of it still saddens me but also makes me proud to be part of America to see how we rise in situations like this.
