I was sound asleep the Morning of 9-11 when my Mom called up. At first I was irritated because I was on the second day of my vacation and I wanted to sleep in late. She asked me if I heard what happened and I thought to myself “someone in my family died and this is the first I’ve heard of it.” I said no and I asked what was wrong.
Mom told me that planes had crashed into the World Trade Center and into the Pentagon and into the State Department. She then told me to turn on the TV and watch. I hung up and did so just in time to see Tower Two collapse.
I literally had to shake myself becasue I thought it was all a bad dream. I watched until the until Tower One went down. At that point I had to go take a walk. I said some prayers for the people in the buildings and for their families. I asked God why it happened. I wanted to cry but I couldn’t. I found my way back home and I ended up parked in front of TV for the rest of my vacation. I’ll never forget that day.
