I was at home, cleaning my room. I had been through a horrible month myself at the time, losing my job. I had been lazy and let it go.

My boyfriend at the time called me around ten or ten thirty, and the first words out of his mouth was “We’re under attack” Of course I had no idea what he was talking about, then he said “The world trade center was just hit.”

My mom and i Turned the tv on, and there it was…At first it didn’t even register. i just thought it might have been plane trouble or something. Then there came the talk of terrorists, and then the stories came for weeks after about how the plane in Pennsylvania was averted in crashing where it was supposed to. That just got me. it all did. And like i said, I had been through a rough month myself, but this made me forget my problems for a while.

The boyfriend I am with now, has brought up some good points too about the incident. He wonders why, and it disgusts him how every time you turn around you are never hearing about the thousands of people who perished that day, but, it’s always the fire and police department. It’s all you ever hear! Yes, we know they got in there risked and even gave their lives to help the others get out….what about those ordinary people who never had the chance? The guy just starting a new job, on the 100th floor…The lady who bent down to tie her shoe, and the next minute, the wall and floor crashing around her? we need to hear more about these people, and yes, still credit the fire and police department. But just credit those plain everyday people who were just sitting at their desk that day….without a clue that they would probably die.
