Me and my family lived in the border of Texas (Reynosa, Tamaulipas). I was 3 years old when that happened. My mom was watching the news at 7 a.m. in the kitchen. Actually my parents had the appointment for their VISA in september 12. Then they saw that the first plane had hit the tower. They all think that it was an accident, and the airplane had fallen. But when the second airplane crashed, they thought that war had begun. The first thing that they do was call to family and friends. My parents were scared to failing to make the visa process because it was in the united states consulate in Laredo, Tamaulipas. At the end, they didn’t cancel the process, but the next day (September 13) consulates closed, suspending the granting of visas for a while. They were saved!
