Iwas making my bed and listening to TV when I felt something was wrong.Being an ex New Yorker, I saw tower 1 burning and I knew people were in trouble. Then came the horror of seeing two women holding hands and jumping from the highest floors, to escape the death inside. I kept repeating, “Oh My GOD”. I prayed for GOD to help them. It was unreal. I lived on the 40th floor in Manhattan and could see the Twin Towers from our apartment. My heart froze, when the close up of the second plane appeared on TV and crashed into the South tower. I remember screaming. There are no words in this world to express how it brought back many memories of Pearl Harbor Photos as the Japenese were bombing there in 2 waves of planes coming over. We did not have TV’s then. My husband was stationed there. He was in the Marines. That war brought pride to all Americans, we were ONE NATION UNDER GOD. WE knew we would refuse to lose. FDR was a very strong willed man. He was brilliant and kept our spirits up. GOD WAS THE ONE WE LEANED ON. Women took over men’s jobs and we were making parts for planes and Bomb sights. The men found out, that women could wear overalls and learn fast how to work all the machinery to assemble parts. The attack on WTC has had a different reaction. Democrats and Republicans are not close. We seem to be a nation divided. IF WE DON’T LOVE AND RESPECT ONE ANOTHER and Volunteer to help in some way, that makes the Terrorists smarter than we are. The Terrorists are very strong dedicated maniacs who stick close to each other. We are doing nothing to help our Military’s morale. We seldom see photos of them? Why did some of our Allies go home? PRAY for peace and President Bush and Powell. Powell is a learned man who foreign nation’s respect. Rumsfeld is somewhat confused at times. He makes a speech, entirely different than what the President has been saying. Cheney is ready to go to war. GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY. PLEASE GOD, show us the way to PEACE IN THE WORLD. GOD BLESS OUR CHILDREN, the future of our Country.
