I decided to sleep in on September 11th. I had stayed up late the night before making travel plans for that weekend. When I woke up on the 11th, I went straight in the bathroom to take a shower. I had moved in to my grandmother’s apartment about 4 months earlier to comfort her after my grandfather had passed away. Anyway, she must have been hovering at the door, because as soon as the water was off she was franticly pounding on the door. When I came out she said exactly “Terrorists are here!” I was so confused by what she just said. I thought to myself; Here, in our apartment? Here in California? I really couldn’t understand what the heck she ment. I turned on the T.V. and watched in horror as the second building fell. Then the news anchors started talking about a plane going down somewhere in PA. That really got to me, because an entire side of my family is in PA. I was only able to watch a little bit of T.V. in the morning because I had to go to work. That really didn’t stop me from getting information. When I went home for lunch, I saw some horrible things on the news. I watched as a sandy blonde woman wearing a beige skirt and a blue shirt, fall to her death. I spent the rest of that disturbing day in a deep fog. It’s 9/5/02 today. I can still remember the feelings and thoughts I had on that day. I’m not looking forward to next week. I thank God that I knew no one who died. I pray for all their families and friends. God bless!
