I am a citizen of Southern africa. I lost no one, but the significance of that day touched my soul. These days the world is a darker place, war drums beat with an ever accelerating pace as we all march off towards an uncertain future. The ‘Land of The Free’ has through past endeavours shaped our contemporary world, a world divided between those that support her and those that seek her demise. Last year we were reminded that it is wise to keep ones friends close and ones enemies closer. I came down the stairs and watched a piece of humanity burn, crumbling to the ground. History will speak of lost humanity, but mankind has always been a poor student of history. Futility is everything in our lives that does not serve to enrich our hearts and nurture the growth of our minds… our souls. We will remember that day for the pain, the fear and the dark hearts that burned away in the autumn light. Human life without humanity is futile.
