I can remember sitting at my desk in Houston, Texas. There was alot of commotion on the floor. I went to see what was happening.

Once I found out, I nearly lost it thinking about my friend Selina. My heart nearly stopped. I rushed out of the office to call her. I can remember not getting through at first but called again.

Her co-workers said she was not there and they were not sure were she was at She had a meeting some place and was not in the office. I lost it. Selina and I had been friends over 30 years.

It took me over an hour before I talked to her. She had to remind that her office had moved from the WTC. Her words to me were “the world has gone crazy”.

I am a native New Yorker. I could not believe what was happening. I had just visited those towers about 3 years prior. It was the only time I had been there.

I have since learned that one of my co-workers in Houston lost her cousin on Sept. 11, 2001.

My heart goes out to those who werew lost and their love ones left behind.
