I was stationed at Fort Hood with the US Army’s 1st Cavalry Division. I was on my way home from PT (physical training) when I heard the report of a plane hitting the World Trade Center. I said a silent prayer for the families of those lost and prayed that it was an accident. When I got home, I turned on the news and as I watched the report and the live feed of the burning tower, I saw the second plane strike. The anchor didn’t even catch what had just happened live. I knew right then that it was no accident. I knew I we would be going to war.
