I worked for the Port Authority and helped type all the minutes of the meetings of the Commissioners that built those magnificent buildings. The PA moved into the trade center in 1972 and I worked on 67th floor. I left the PA in 1978 but grew to love those buildings in the six short years I was there. I was home that day with my husband when I received a call from my mother-in-law. We watched in horror as the buildings burned and collapsed. I was in every hallway in my mind living the terror happening in front of me. I kept thinking….how could this possibly happen in the US! When the first plane hit, I thought maybe an accident…but with the second plane I knew we were being attacked…but by who..I asked. Our world changed for everyone alive that day. God’s blessings to all the souls lost and their families on that horrific day.
