The day began just like any other work day for me. I left for work as I always do at 7:45 a.m. (Central Time). I got to work at about 7:53 and prepared the office for the day. As other workers were coming into the building, one of them stopped in our office and told me that a plane had crashed into one of the World Trade Center buildings. To be honest, I really didn’t think much of it at the time, I got a picture in my head of a very small plane hitting the building and that it was just an accident. It wasn’t until the morning slowly kept progressing that I realized the magnitude of this event. I never went to watch the t.v., I just stayed in the office listening to others as they explained the progress of events. I’d say about an hour after the first plane hit, I went home to get a radio so the people in my office could hear the news. As the news of the other tower getting hit, the plane hitting the Pentagon, the plane crashing in PA, and the eventual collapse of the buildings came to be, I thought this is going to change the future of this country forever. All we did that day at work was listen to the news report and listen in terror. This definitely was a day I will NEVER forget.
