I felt compelled to share because per my normal routine I woke up this morning, grabbed a coffee and started reading news stories. I’m now 36, and as I sat here in my home I found myself, a grown man weeping at 6am this morning. My story is not unique I was like so many Americans watching the events unfold, horrified, confused and worried about my countrymen. I thought of the mothers, husbands, and children suffering by a senseless act. I had been in a terrible accident 2 weeks prior, and was at home, bed ridden with a broken pelvis, so my view of the events was literally watching the towers fall from my bed. Like I said, my story is not unique, I waas, and still am deeply moved. I watch my 3 young children, and think about all the Americans effected then and now. The first responders, the military, and all of the men, women, and children who have perished. I pray that their memory not be in vain, and that we as a country can return to being a united, resilient, and determined people. The USA is nor perfect, it wasn’t designed to be. However, this is the only country one can truly be free, despite what the narrative has become. I remember feeling the world had changed when you could not here or see a single aircraft in the sky, but I have never lost hope that we as a people will continue on, and further our values in the face of tyranny. Please let us never forget. God bless us all.
