September 11, a date no one will soon forget. I myself, a 9th grader at Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland Kentucky, was young in the eyes of teh world.I am a freshman. And all freshman have to take PE. Well as history will record, it was a beautiful beautiful day. We went to the track and ran a few laps. That was at 9:15. We had missed the attacks, but the buildings were still standing. We got inside, and coach was like hey guys The WTC and teh pentagon had some planes hit them. Everyone was like sure coach. I was one of them, i had just read a tom clancy book in which a plane was hijacked and slammed into the Capitol, killing all our goverment, so i was like this isnt happening. I saw the ROTC guys running around like crazy, hmm i thought. The bell rang and i went to 2nd period. I got to the English Building, all the t.v.’s were on. Oh God i thought. With every step i walked faster, faster, my heart was beating like crazy. I got to the room, i looked up, there was a huge cloud of smoke on the TV, and only one tower. I looked over to Jordy, and said Jordy wheres the other tower, cuz i knew if u looked at it just right u could only see one tower. Jordy said these words, what other tower, its been destroyed. I almost fell down. I sat down, they showed the Pentagon on fire too. O god i thought. I kept my eye on Tower One. i saw it buckle, and i said, its goin too. And then it fell. Everyone had tears, i looked over to matt, and mouthed the word WAR. The commentators were speechless, some crying. They showed the replays again and again, it was unreal. THen they reported of a Bomb going off at the State Department. And then of Flight 93. I had a feeling it was related, and i was right. I like to be informed so i watch alot of the news shows, and i knew of Osama Bin Laden, and he was Behind the 1st WTC bombing, the African Embassy Bombings, and the U.S.S. Cole. So i had a feeling. We didnt have classes we watched the news, all day. i prayed alot that day, wishing i could do somthing. the seniors were scared because of the Draft, if we did go to war would they be drafted? They showed the replay of Bush being told about the ‘attacks, what a fine leader we have, he kept his cool. When school got out i was glad to be home, i followed the news some more, there was nothing else on. They showed WTC 7 collapse, intresting. then they showed survivor stories, and then all the missing people flyers. Mayor Gulianni was speechless about how many may be dead. Then at about 545 they announced fighting near Kabul, some said it was us, but it wasnt. I went to bed that night thinking this is a dream. But when i woke up, and they shpowed lower manhattan, i knew then. 911 was the first day i think every channell had the same thing, even MTV had it. every network had it. It was crazy. My heart goes out to all the victims, and all the people affected, i havent forgotten, i think about it every day. I Have always been a strong Patriot, and people said i was to Patriotic, and to knock it off im a loser, but when 911 happened, they all joined me, and i still havent changed, and i never will.
