i remember hearing about the attacks as i finished work at 3:15pm uk time from a colleague saying a plane had hit a building in NY. when i got home around 30 mins later i was met by my mum watching it on sky news, saying the WTC had collapsed after it had been hit by 2 planes and watching the buildings collapse is something i have never forgot, it was then my mum informed me that her cousin who i knew but never met lived right next to the WTC and her mind was wondering and worrying if he was ok, thankfully he was. i have since visited NYC and among the many pictures i took was one was of the WTC site and 2 of the metal beam that resembled a crucifix and is was kept as a memorial, as i stood there i couldn’t take in what had happened there in 2001. i loved NYC it’s a brilliant city and New Yorkers are great and brave people.
