I was home from work that day. I was about 8:50 am. I turned on the tv because we were going to watch the disney channel for my daughter. CNN channel was the last channel from the night before. I saw the first tower on fire. They had mentioned a plan hitting it. I knew immediately that it had to be a terrorist act. What plane accidently hits a building. I had friends and old coworkers in that building. I couldn’t believe the loss of life that took place at that moment. Later a second plane hit and then the 3rd at the Pentagon, I said to my wife what the heck is going on. It was like they took a page out of this tv show called 7 days. Unfortuantely I watched the news all day and tried contacting friends. I saw the towers fall and couldn’t believe my eyes and said they finally did it. I remember as a kid when they had just opened up. I was in awe at the time of how tall they were.

I found out later I had lost at least 1 friend that day. Every person I know knows of someone who lost their lives that day. Some friends who survived were in shell shock so to speak. I also cancelled my plans to go to the city the next day to meet friends for dinner.

My other friend was on his way to the Verizon building that day too, he couldn’t believe it when he actually saw somebody plunge to their death. How bad does it have to be that you would plunge so many stories. I hope I never find out. There is not a day where I don’t think about this incident as I am sure of many Americans. God help us all.
