I was sitting in my used (but new to me) 1999 Toyota Tacoma on the top of a hill looking over an Earth dam being constructed for a coal company. My job was to test the compaction of the dirt being placed (so the dam holds water) and other inspection. The dam was in a small southwestern town in Pennsylvania called Brave. I was listening to Howard Stern in my truck when the planes struck the towers. A little later, I kept the foreman of the contractor informed of what was happening through out the day since we were figutatively in the middle of nowhere & the workers didn’t have radios. It’s not much of a story, but it’s mine.
