Knew someone who perished?: No

On 9/11 I was living in the small town of Paola, Kansas. I was a senior in high school. On that particular day I stayed home from school due to an injury I received from a football game the previous Friday. I woke up a few mintues after the 1st plane hit and was watching Matt Lauer cover the story as the 2nd plane hit. It was at that moment I knew our country was under attach.

I have to say, that if it wasnt for that terrible day, I wouldnt be as patriotic as I am today. I wouldnt love and appreciate this country as much as I do. I probably wouldnt be as respectful to others as I am today. That day taught me to always be respectful to others and to try and treat others the way I would want to be treated. You never know when your number is up. I’ll never forget how this country came together. It was great because that was the exact opposite result those bastards wanted.

9/11 may have happened a long distance away, but it was way too close to home.

May God Bless America and God Bless you and your family.
