I arrived at work to open the store a little before 9:30 am. All the way to work for some odd reason, I never turned on the radio. Now, I’m glad I didn’t. After opening the store, I waited on a co-worker to arrive. When 10:30 passed I got worried he wasn’t there yet. Finally around 11:15, he arrived with a look of shock on his face. He asked “Have you heard?” I said “Heard what?” Then he looked at me with the saddest face I have ever seen, and those words came out. “The trade center towers are gone, and the Pentagon bombed.” All I could think was it was the end of the world, and began to cry. I wanted to run home and hold my fiancee, my grandma, my mom, and my poor innocent cat. See thats the thing, now I realize just how vulernable we all are. I know now that my life is not something to be taken for granted. I know now I count each and every day like it could be my last.
