September 11,2001
I was in third grade. It was another normal morning..we got to school (8:55am) ..said the pledge of allegiance ( 9:00 am)and sat down to start our day..but at around (9:05 am) our day changed. All of our teachers were called into the hallway suddenly and when my teacher walked back into the room she had a shocked / upset looked on her face as she looked at all of us in the room… but couldn’t tell us why. All we knew was that we were going home early. As they rushed us all onto our buses we still at that time didn’t know what was going on. My parents were both at work at the time I got home from school so I ended up going to the neighbors… that is when we saw the replay of the planes hitting the twin towers on TV. We then realized another plane crashed in Shanksville, PA near where we lived and that was part of the reasoning for sending us home. I will never forget that day.
