On September 11th, I woke up that morning, ready for another long day of school. I took a shower, put on my clothes for the day and headed off for school.I never watch television in the morning, so I had no idea what was going on.
As I was walking, I noticed it was a little quiet, but had no idea why. It’s a two mile walk to school, and I began to notice hardly any cars were on the road, which is really unusual, considering it was the seven o’clock rush hour. When I arrived at school, I went in to my first hour class and the room was full of people crying while watching the television.
I went to my friend Jennifer and asked, “whats goin’ on?
She told me, “Haven’t you heard? They bombed the World Trade Center!.”
I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. I had to see for myself. So I went back to the television and saw the footage of a plane flying into the Trade Center. Then they showed footage of the second plane crashing into the other tower. I was scared out of my mind. Being only fourteen, I had never seen anything like that in my life. It was like something out of a war movie.
I found out that the reason it was so quiet that mornig was because all planes were grounded. It was truly the scariest day of my life.
