9.11.01 is a day i can’t ever forget. It was a bad day for me as a person and then it got worse.
In a cemetery in Paisley, Scotland U.K. I was burying my Mother who had died after a brief illness. I had watched her in hospital suffering in pain despite massive amounts of painkillers, until the end came.
I left the funeral and went home, it was in the cab on the way home i heard on the radio of an attack on the twin towers in New York city, i commented to my girlfriend that it wasn’t near the anniversary for the then previous attack on the twin towers, it was then the cab driver told us of the plane hitting one of the towers.
When we got home and turned on the news the shocking image of the plane flying into the tower was there on the screen, i sat there in shock watching it and then the second plane went into the other tower.
I feel ashamed that i cried then upon seeing that happen and not cry at my mothers funeral.
It took me a very long time to get over my Mother’s death as i was reminded every day for a very long time of 9.11. For me it’s the day i buried my Mother and the day that others lost their Mothers and Fathers, Sisters and Brothers. I’m glad my Mother didn’t see what happened that day, it would have broke her heart.
