I had logged on to my computer and as always first thing checked the news. I would usually turn the tv on to CNN but checked email first. I read the headline about the crash…only minutes had passed since the first attack. I flew out of my chair and turned the television on. I can still remember what it felt like to watch the television in horror and be able to do nothing. I called my daughter in Tucson, AZ to tell her the news. 20 minutes later before my eyes was the second hit. I got into my car and drove over to my boyfriend’s apartment while trying to reach him by cell phone. We were both in shock and disbelief.
We will never forget the day and what we must stand for to fight for our freedom and rights for our country and for those who can not fight for themselves. I pray for the victims and their loved ones and hope they know they will never be forgotten.
