There’s really nothing much to tell about what happened. I was around a neighbour’s place, and we were watching the late news (10:50pm — since I live in Australia). The news lady had gotten through all the reports, and was about to go to the sports section, when she had to go to the breaking story of the first plane crash. At first, I thought that it was a light aircraft crashing into the first building, and thought nothing more than a tragic plane crash with a ‘few’ deaths. But, when the news lady let the story run over time, I took more notice of the story and found that it was a big catastrophe. Straight after the first commercial break, the American ABC reports confirmed that a second plane had hit the other tower, and it was then that I and 4 others who were watching found that it was a terrorist attack. As we all know, the second tower collapsed, but I wasn’t expecting the first tower to collapse as well. This was all so deadly serious yet surreal to me. Then the reports of the Pentagon being hit came in. I was wondering if WW3 had begun. Our Prime Minister, John Howard, was in the White House at the time — I think. Later, there was reports of the Pennsylvania crash. Then, speculation emerged about a 5th plane being hijacked and being flown to Los Angelas. I was up until 3am hoping that this was not true. It’s hard to believe that there are brainwashed psychotic people out there who wished this to happen. I hope that the future brings people of peace.
