I live in Oregon, i had just gotten up, letting my husband
and 2-year old son sleep. i got the paper, sat down and switched
on the tv. I immediatly saw the coverage but thought that it was like
a Schwarzenegger movie, until i saw the tickker. By this time the 1st tower
had gone down, and the other, on fire. OH MY GOD! i thougt and burst into tears
and ran screaming into my bedroom to get my husband who was just coming
out-he was still half asleep, but i grabed him and said that the WTC towers
in NY have been ATTACKED! He thought that I was making a big deal, that is until
he saw the news. At this time we both then heard that the Pentagon had been attacked
as well. My husband stood there in shock, while i sat weeping. I then called my in-laws
and told them to turn on the tv. I have to brothers who are in the Navy-they were immediately
put on high alert.
My husband and i explained to our son, who was wondering why there wasn’t any
cartoons on, that some really BAD GUYS crashed 2 airplanes into some tall
buildings, there was a big fire, alot of people got hurt and alot went up
to heaven. He proceeded to say “I’m gonna get those bad guys and shoot them in
the hynee!!”
It doesn’t matter, what your age, all of us will always remember something about
that day. Even as i type this, i am very emotional and always will be,
Even today, when I ask my sweet little boy, “Who does GOD BLESS?”
He happily says- “AMERICA!!!”
GOD BLESS US ALL!
never forget.
