Lived in NY on 9.11.01?: No
Knew someone who perished?: No

On 9-11 I was at my job in Allendale, New Jersey. It was a normal morning when Boom! Someone mentioned they saw the 1st plane hitting the WTC via msnbc.com. Then an updated alert with the 2nd plane crashing. Right there right then I knew it was terrorism. Then followed with the Pentagon hit, and the plane that crashed in PA. It felt like the world was crashing down on us… I Really panicked like everybody did. I wanted to be with my wife and baby daughter so bad . I was almost in tears in front of people I worked with… All I could think of was them and their safety. Luckily my cell phone had service–to this day I don’t know how, when everyone else’s cell phone wasn’t working… I Called my wife and told her I was coming home. She was terrified because family was calling her in hysterics also..

I drove home like a madman on the highway fearing a shutdown of the highways for security reasons, and as soon as I was getting off my exit in Clifton, NJ where I live I saw it… a huge mushroom cloud over NYC where the towers once stood… It was overwhelming! I continued to drive home and thank God I made it in one piece… I embraced my wife and daughter in fear and in happiness that I was home… the rest of the night we watched the tv news showing a gazillion reruns of all the crashes ……
