I had gotten sick the weekend before the attacks and had made the 3 hour drive home from school to rest and get better, as it turned out I was never so happy to be with my family. I was sound asleep in my bed when my mom came running into my room screaming, I jumped out of my bed and ran into my parents bedroom where my mom was watching CNN. The first plane had just hit, my mom and I watched horrified as the second plane crashed into the second tower. It was horror to both my mother and I. Immediately after the second plane hit my mom was on the phone calling everyone in our family to make sure that no one was traveling. My mom and I were glued to the TV for the rest of the day, but when the plane hit the pentagon I began to feel very sick, my best friend was doing his interniship in the capital building this semester and I knew that he was at work and I just prayed that he was safe. It took me 6 hours to get ahold of him in D.C. but I was relieved to find out that he was safe. Almost a year later I am still in shock about these horrible attacks. It really made me realize just how precious life really is and not to take it for granted. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
