My story actually begins around 10 P.M. on Monday, September 10th, 2001. My wife and I were on a walk on the 1400 block of Ellis Ave. in Webb City, MO. At the same time, we both noticed the most eerie meteorite I have ever seen. Most meteors are a quick streak across the night time sky and then they disappear almost as quickly as they appeared. This one was quite different.

It was obvious this meteor was extremely close to the earth. It’s tail was enormous. Instead of a quick streak, it was a prolonged span of light. I remember an odd feeling came over me as if I was beholding an omen of sorts. (Remember, at this point, I had no clue of the events that would unfold the following morning.)

The next morning, my sister-in-law and I were on our way to Springfield, MO for insurance training. We arrived at approximately ten minutes ’til 9 A.M. central time. As soon as we walked in (we were the first students there) our instructor said, “Have you guys heard? Two planes have crashed into the WTC and one into the Pentagon.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

Every break we took that day was spent in the cafeteria watching the television. No one said a word. Many cried. I will never forget that horrific day.
