I was 10 years old and I still remember it. We had P.E. at school (it was 3:30 pm, I think) when our teacher called us and told us to form a circle and then be quite for a minute. I had no idea what was going on (I lived in Denmark at the time and I had just started learning the language) so we joked a bit and laughed some, but I remember the look on my teacher’s face and it was so.. sad and exhausted. It was horrible.
Well, when I came home that day, my mom sat in the living room, but turned off the TV when I entered. That night I was home by myself and turned on the telly and the news programme was on and I saw the shocking pictures. I just sat there and didn’t know what was going on so I just cried and it was so bad. I saw people jumping out of the windows and, well, needless to say whenever Enya’s “Only Time” comes on the radio, we turn it off or change the chanel.
My mom also told me she went into the city that day with my big siblings and there were army people walking around with machine guns. It was really scary.
