I am an occupational Therapist working in a large rehab hospital in Brooklyn, NY. I had been at my job for about 6 months on 9/11. That morning I decided that I was going to head down to medical records in the basement of the hospital I work in. I had some old papers that needed to be filed. I had put this task off for about a month and, for some reason, I decided 9/11 would be the day to tie up this loose end. This would be the first time I ever went in to this area – I had never met any of the people working there. I walk in and just b4 I ask for help I notice a woman with her ear pressed up against a small radio – she was crying. This was about 9:10-9:15 AM. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that a plane had crashed into the WTC. Immediately I thought accident and it was only 30-60 minutes later that I found out that this was a terrorist attack. I suppose that there is nothing extraordinary about my story – but I always wonder about why I was in that room with those people. those strangers learning of what I believe to be one of the most tragic incidents in American History. Who knows? God bless America!!!!!!!
