I was in Pensacola, Florida staying at the Lodging on Pensacola Naval Air Station. It was teusday so the “Blue Angels” were conducted there weekly practice. I was on a playground with my children lying upside down on the merry-go-round with my two children just watching this wonderful display of our military power. Then, all at once they stopped flying.

I went inside to tell my wife to come outside and watch the blue angels. She told me to wait a few minutes, so I turned on the TV and the phone rang at the same time. I saw the devastation and picked-up the telephone. It was my sister, she was upset and asked did I see what was happening. I said yes, the world trade center was on fire. She said a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. This was the first plane.

Right after getting off the phone I saw the other one hit. It was unreal to me. It seemed like a movie. Here I was watching the Blue Angels a symbol of our strength as a country and then I see our great nation in shock because we are under attack. At that moment I knew the world had changed for good. I felt empty, mad, hurt and most of all confussed by these attacks. It was a sad day in history.
