It was around 8:30 a.m. I had just gotten into first hour in my school when my principal, Mr. Waters unexpectedly came on the intercom.

“Today is a day that will live in Infamy in America and the worlds hearts… The World Trade Center was just struck by a plane around 7:23 and once again just a few minutes ago. We will keep you updated as to the events that occur for the rest of the day, until then, God Help us”

My classmates and I were dumbfounded we knew the WTC was important but not as important as we learned after September 11th.

My teacher, in tears, was against the wall with her head in her hands. She realized we didnt get it.

“Dont you understand whats happening? The World Trade Center is an extremely important building Worldwide, What happens to it effects the whole world.”

We still werent struck, jokes fluttered lightly around the room and school.
