It seemed like a normal day in Smithfield. I was washing my baby, and I got a call from my husband. He told me to turn on the news and watch it. I turned on the news thinking nothing bad was happening. But, this was not normal news. I looked at the horrible news shown on the T.V. My little kids didn’t know what was happening at the time so, they weren’t worried. I didn’t call or message anyone, because I was too shocked to move away from the television. My husband came home from work and we talked about what was happening. We sat and watched the news for a while and then we went out to eat, because it was our anniversary. Only one restaurant was open because everyone went home. My view of Muslims didn’t change, because not all Muslims are bad people. There was bad things that came out of this, but there was also good. We came together as a county for awhile because politics weren’t important, and everyone worked together. September 11,2001 was truly a day to remember.
