I was to work the afternoon shift. As I was getting ready for work I decided to put the television on for a while. When the news interrupted broadcasting I watched in horror. When the second plane hit, I wept for souls I did not know. Then more planes and innocent lives were gone before our eyes so close to home. The phone rang and a supervisor asked me if I would like to stay home, as work slowed to a standstill. I said no, thinking to myself, I do not want to be home alone with all this terror and sorrow. But as I watched and cried, I finally called work and said, if offer still holds, I want to stay home. I wanted my family, friends, and neighbors with me so I could try to make sense of all this horror and loss. There is no reasoning that I have found except that some people are so hateful about things that they do not understand. May America Stand Proud.
