On September 11, 2001, I was asleep until after everything had happened. My husband and I had taken our phone and cell phone off the hook so we could sleep in late. As soon as the phone was back on the hook, the phone was ringing. It was my father-in-law telling us to turn on the tv. My husband told me a plane had hit the World Trade Center so I grabbed my cell phone and tried to call my daughter, Joni who lives in New York City. I couldn’t get through to her. Her company had been planning on moving to the World Trade Center but I did not know if they had moved yet or not. I was panicking because I didn’t know where she was. After my husband hung up the phone, one of my other daughters called and said she had talked to Joni and she was not at the World Trade Center. They had not moved yet, Thank God. I was so relieved about her but I was so sad for all the people who couldn’t get out of those buildings. I still cry to this day when I hear stories about 9-11. I don’t think I will ever forget it.
