I was at my desk. I checked USAToday’s website and saw a picture of the hole in one of the Twin Towers with smoke pouring out of it. The headline said that a plane had hit one of the Towers. I immedately left my floor (12) and took the elevator down to where the TV rooms are (4). As time went by, more and more people came in the TV room. Then right before our eyes the second plane hit. There were screams and gasps. My jaw hit the floor. Then we heard about the Pentagon. That’s when a message came over our PA system saying the Country was under attack and those that wished to leave could go home. I listened to CBS on the radio in my car. Both towers had fallen while I was driving home. By the time I got home and turned on the TV, the picture was of New York City engulfed in a dark plume of smoke.
Every second I am reminded of the towers. The building I work in was also designed by architect Minoru Yamasaki.
