I was a nurse on a surgery unit
We had all ready sent our 7:30 cases to surgery. A coworker called me and said get to a TV.
As I heard that the planes had just taken off, I knew this was on purpose, they had full tanks.
It was hard sending later cases to surgery not knowing what they would wake up to. The Pentagon had been hit.
Someone from Garden City said planes were going down there. Turns out GC has the longest airport runway between Denver and Wichita and they were landing the big planes there.
I would have had a hard time going into surgery myself not knowing what kind of world I wake up to.
Then there was Flight 93!
