I was in the 9th grade in IVA SC. 15 years old. (held back in middle school) It was about 8:47 a.m. Someone ran by our class room and said, “someone hit the twin towers!” Then they were gone in a flash. We all said, “what?” not grasping what was happening or what was meant. The next hour or so blew by quickly, I honestly can’t remember where the time went just that it was business as usual for my algebra class. When 10:20 a.m hit it was time for lunch. The one and only time I have ever seen them put TV’s in the Cafeteria. I saw the News recap of the 2nd tower being hit and I thought is this a movie joke? Then to my disbelief, at 10:28 a.m, I WITNESSED LIVE as the 2nd tower collapsed. All I can remember is the anger I felt that day. I knew what I’d seen had been historic but I couldn’t fathom the ripple effect it would have because of my anger.
